A Content Management System (CMS) has the task to facilitate the easy creation, publishing and management of content (text, images, videos). Other benefits include collaborative working in software, separation of design and content management, and creating different levels of access for users. The most popular CMS are Wordpress, Joomla and Typo3.
BENEFITS ODOO CMS
Odoo offers all the benefits of a standard content management system and more. In this area we want to show and explain the advantages of Website Builder, Responsive Webdesign and the various CMS areas.
Odoo CMS uses the so-called Website Builder to create content. It is based on the bootstrap framework, with its fluid-grid system and its up to 12 columns. Usually in a CMS the content is created in the backend - at Odoo it is different and easier: here the content is created in the frontend (directly on the website), so you can see immediately what the result on the website will look like (what you see is what you get).
The Website Builder works like this: You create a page in the front end and then use Website Builder (drag & drop) to drag in pre-made content into the page. These contents are snippets, which are already available in the standard. If your company wants to use other content elements in the blog area, with a different design, then extra snippets need to be created. After you have dragged the content elements into the website, only the texts and images are adjusted. After that, the page can be published. Summary: Drag and drop content into the new page. Finished.
With the first mention and introduction of Responsive Webdesign (2010-2013), the needs of people and search engines have changed dramatically with respect to the user experience of a wide variety of devices (desktop, tablet, smartphone). Users expect that content on the smartphone is easy to read and displayed very optimized. The whole thing did not come from nothing, but, it was the logical consequence (seen in retrospect) by the introduction of the Iphones in 2007 and the introduction of new device types (smartphone & tablet).
All contents created in the Odoo CMS are delivered in responsive web design. This is made possible by the bootstrap framework that addresses the most diverse breakpoints & devices. Odoo is thus completely adjusted to the needs of today's users and also to the requirements of the search engines (Google), which require a high user experience for their users.
AREAS ODOO CMS
Standard corporate websites usually show only main pages such as Home, Services, Contact, About us, References and other landing pages. If you use Odoo CMS as your company website, then you can additionally implement and map the following areas: blog, forum, online shop (very strong), jobs and events.
The integrated Odoo online shop is one of the biggest advantages of Odoo for e-commerce operators. If most e-commerce companies work with different softwares, they can all be managed in one software through the combination of ERP and online shop software. The connector between ERP and online shop software is also eliminated, which is usually responsible for data exchange problems.
In Odoo, you can display several blog sections in the default. The advantage of a blog over simple pages is that there is always an overview page from which you can access the individual articles. The overview area can display tags, the last articles, most read articles and much more. For example, companies can have an area for news, tutorials, or internal information.
A standard in Odoo CMS, the HR managers will like. In Odoo, there is the recruitment app, with which the entire procedure around the administration of applications can be mapped and controlled. If a new job is created and published in the app, then the new job is automatically presented on the Odoo website under "Jobs". Applicants can view vacancies and submit applications in this area. It then returns with all information inserted into the ERP and can be used for the further procedure around the attitude of coworkers.
If your company offers congresses, webinars or other events, all participants and tickets can be managed in Odoo. This includes all processes from the creation of the event in Odoo ERP to the publication in Odoo CMS, to the payment and dispatch of the tickets.
In addition to blogs, you can also create a forum in Odoo CMS. In the forum, users can start discussions, ask and answer questions, add comments, and earn karma points. The whole thing is managed in the Odoo backend in the app website, and is standard in Odoo.
